There are seasons when progress cannot be measured in launches, revenue, or miles traveled. During cancer treatment, the work narrowed to recovery, family, and the next day. What looked from the outside like a pause was not empty time.
A field can appear still while the next season is being prepared. Forced quiet exposes which commitments are real, which ambitions are borrowed, and which relationships deserve more of us. It changes the questions we are willing to postpone.
Recovery did not produce a perfect plan. It produced a clearer standard: meaningful living cannot remain contingent on finishing the business, clearing the calendar, or reaching a cleaner chapter. The season ahead is seeded by what we choose to value now.
